Meh. Me and my friend are working n a Varjak Paw/Warriors story. Bordem.
Proluge
A sleek white-and-brown tabby purred in a soft voice, “Come, we must follow them. If they are to stop, we stop. But nothing will get in our way of following them.” A gray cat stepped up. “But what if we lose track of were they are?”
“Nothing will, Smokey. We are determined, right? If we want what they seek, we follow behind. Then they will have fought the enemies first, making life easy for us.” The white-and-brown tabby hissed.
“What if they find us?” Smokey asked.
“Then we will--”
The tabby she-cat paused. A Caterwaul shrieked in the distance.
“Sally!”
Chapter 1
Varjak looked around. It had been around 2 moons since he had battled Sally Bones, and now seeked more adventure. He trotted of to Sally Bone’s territory, now that she had fled It was only Varjak Paw’s gang and Ginger, a wicked cat but still sweeter than Sally. Holly, a black and white cat followed, who was close by to Tam, a fluffy brown cat. Varjak sighed, smelling the fresh air. “Come now, we have little time. We must get to the edge of the forest soon.” Varjak said in calm but rushed voice. The three cats wanted to see what awaited them at the edge of the forest.
“Varjak, I’m hungry. I haven’t eaten for three days.” Holly moaned.
“Well, if you see any trash, we can stop by for a few minutes. But we have to get there soon.”
“Why? Can’t we wait?”
“No.”
Varjak ran. He was obviously getting impatient.
“Varjak sure got bossy since we won”
“I know. I’m beginning to dislike him.”
It had been one moon and the cats were finally reaching the edge of the city. Now being spring, fish were being shipped in at a fair amount. Holly, Tam and Varjak were able to snag a few, just enough to keep them going. Varjak could see the end, or at least think he could. Holly’s amber eyes showed anger, but tried to keep it to her.
“Varjak,” Tam said. “I see a fish shop.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Not enough time.”
“I see a pet store.”
“No.”
A howl rose nearby. None of the humans appeared to notice, but the cats did. “Let’s keep going.” Varjak advised. Later, night fell. All of the cats eyes began to work like flash lights. Holly heard a soft but fierce mew.
“Who’s there?” She asked.
Another mew.
“Who is it?”
One more.
“Okay, I’ll come over there.”
No more. Holly could hear it breathing, whatever it was. Holly's curiosity began to take over. She nosed garbage away to find a blue kitten with green eyes. "
What is it?" whispered a cautious voice behind her. Holly turned to see Tam hidden behind a garbage can, fur fluffed up and eyes gleaming. "Oh, Tam," Holly murmured, flicking her tail. "It's just a kitten," Tam backed away.
"Tam!" demanded Holly. "Come see!"
She walked behind Tam and shoved her up to the kitten. "Holly, no!" Tam shrieked. She leaped over Holly and dashed away, her brown fur bristling. Holly sighed and turned to the kitten. It mewed again. Holly edged closer. The kitten got up and ran down another alleyway.
"Wait!" Holly called, but the kitten was gone. She sighed again and lay back down. She closed her mustard-colored eyes and tried to fall asleep beside Varjak. But without Tam's fluffy, warm body against hers, she couldn't get comfortable. Holly stretched, yawned, and walked to the alleyway Tam had disappeared into.
"Tam?" she called. No answer. Holly scented the air.
"Tam, the kitten is gone," she meowed. Still nobody answered. Holly padded back up to Varjak and lay down.
"I'll never get to sleep," she thought.
Tam climbed over another fence. She looked around cautiously. Her fur bristled. This yard had a large doghouse, not unlike the small hut she and Holly used to share. Lying in it, though, was a big dog, bigger than Cludge, breathing heavily in its sleep. Tam crawled as silently as she could through the tall grass. When she reached the fence on the other side, she sighed with relief. However, when she leapt up and started to climb, the dog awoke, snuffling around anxiously. Slowly, it lifted it's large, brown head and spotted Tam. It barked an unfriendly greeting. Although she knew this was coming, this startled Tam so much that she fell. As she did, a sharp stone pierced the pad of her left foot. Tam yowled. The dog charged.
"Varjak!!" Tam cried. She scrambled clumsily over the fence. She was back in an alley. She limped behind a garbage can and began licking her sore paw. She sniffed. Her eyes widened. The smell of another cat! She started too bound away.
"Tam!" called a familiar voice. Tam spun around. There, waving his orange tail proudly was Omar.
"Omar!" Tam cried. She nuzzled him affectionately.
"Tam, what are you doing out here?" He inquired.
"Looking for Cludge," muttered Tam back
"Varjak somehow got the crazy idea of going to the edge of the city, and tonight Holly found a kitten. It could belong to any Gang!"
"What happened to your paw?" Tam described the incident with the dog. Omar looked into her big brown eyes.
"You stay here. There must be a mouse around here somewhere,"
Chapter 2
Graystripe tugged at the tight thing around his neck. He yowled. The Twoleg in front of his cage patted him on the head. He seized its giant paw and bit, hard. The Twoleg yelped and scurried off. Graystripe yowled as loud as he could, but it didn't make any difference. He sighed. He was stuck here forever. He would never get back to ThunderClan. It was almost Sunhigh and Greystripe heard the chirpping for food of birds outside the clear shimmiry think close to Greystripe's cage. He longed for his claws to sink into the savory, sweet, juicy prey. He looked down at the bowl of hard crunchy, foul and tastless food by his left paw. He lowered his nose to sniff it. He wrinkled his nose and turned to his water. It wasn't as bad, but it was different from the cool, flowing water he met Silverstream in. Silverstream, he thought. She was Greystripe's love, her sweet scent of RiverClan, her affection and soft fur, she was perfect. She died giving life to there kits, whom, Greystripe was sure, were now Warriors of RiverClan. He longed to feel the wind ruffle in his fur, prey all around and above him, his Clanmates there to savor every moment, but that was all over. Greystripe was so sad he wouldn't speak. He saw a tortishell cat running free in the tiny, puny room, as if this was seventy times bigger than the forest itself.
"Hey, kitten," Greystripe called, reaching a paw out of the cage. The tortishell paused, tilted it head and flattened her ears then hissed furiously. Greystripe felt his fur prickle. The cat seemed strong for it's small size.
"What do you want?" he Torishell kitten scowled.
"Out," Greystripe murmurer. "I want to get out of the place!"
The kitten pranced over to Greystripe and unsheathed her claws. Greystripes eyes widened in terror. To his surprise the kitten put it's claw in a silver box hanging from the bars. The door flung open, almost hitting Greystripe on the nose. "Thanks," He meowed happily. The kitten nodded and pranced into the cage to devour the foul, hard, crunchy food layed inside.
At the same time as the kitten freeing Greystripe, Holly, Tam and Varjak found themselves only a few blocks from the edge of the forest and into town. They had been traviling for days and now almost reached there goal of out of the city and somewhere else. Tam flicked her ear as a kind insect was was inspecting her.
"Stupid bug." She murmured.
"I'm not a bug, Tam!" Holly wailed.
"No, that!" She pointed to the bug, but it wasn't there.
"What bug?" Varjak asked. His eyes widened as he found himself looking a large dog with foul breath.
"Cludge! Were were you? And Omar?"
"Cludge back. No Omar. Omar gone."
"Omar is gone? But...he's alive!"
"Cludge no think so."
Tam sighed. She wanted to see Omar. Holly was busy trying to figure out what one silly little grey kitten meant, and Varjak Paw was just becoming a brat. She was all alone, focusing on ending there mission, going back and living life normally...but no. Omar might be dead. And Cludge suddenly showed up out of nowhere. It wasn't making sense. But if she knew about Greysripe and the kitten, half of it would. You see, the grey kitten and the tortoiseshell kitten have a lot of things ahead of them. And the white-and-brown she-cat knows what's happing, becuse she has a thong or too with Sally bones and Razor. But Tam didn't know any of those things. in fact, she didn't even know Greystripe existed. those seven cats, if they figure out how to connect with Sally and Razor, could save the life of the city, every gang, Clan, and even Tribecats.
Silver feels her paws move on soggy stuff. She knows what it is, but can't remember what it's called. She moves throuh it until she finds she is on top of a cliff overlooking the little three cats and the two cats following them. She feels sorry that one of them, any one of them will soon fly. If she lets them, they will meet two other cats and lse contact with others. She jumps off the cliff and closes her eyes.
