The cat looked out on her clan one last time, then, at her dead father. They had fought, and Sunpaw had never thought it would come to this. Although she did not feel the least bit sorry, a fear was stirring in her gut at what her leader would do next. The furious scrap had started out a vigorus tussle, started at an ongoing list of insults spat from Nightwhisker's mouth. Sunpaw was infuriated, and had lunged at him, claws extended. Not knowing her own strength, she had killed him. Her paws, face, muzzle and flanks were drenched red. Her father's blood mingled with her own. Now Sunpaw could see how much she was like her father. She had his kind face, lean shoulders, and icy blue eyes. A yowl of hate came from a nearby elder. Sunpaw turned and snarled at the cat. A gray tom stepped out of the crowd. Sunpaw's brother, Horsefoot. Then came her tortiseshell sister, Littlepool. Next Shadowedheart, the Mosshadow, Hawkstump. They had all recieved thier warrior names that day, and Sunpaw was next. Her leader, Eaglestar, frowned in great disaproval.
"Despite this..... unfourtunate happening, we will carry on. Sunpaw, step forward.", Sunbpaw obliged half heartedly.
"Great Starclan, this apprentice has worked hard to know the ways of the warrior code, and thus I give her her warrior name. Bloodstep", Bloodstep cast down her gaze, ashamed of her newly givin name. She slunk out of the encampment, followed by her little band of friends. The shecat stepped into the river. Blood ran off her face, flanks, and shoulders. But the blood on her paws stayed, now a part of her.
